IIMK computes an AIS using CAT 2025 Index Score, Class X %, Class XII %, Gender/Academic Diversity Score, and Work Experience Score (weightages vary by program — see Composite Score table below). A category-wise shortlist for WAT-PI is prepared.

Shortlisted candidates attend a half-day WAT+PI session at one of six centres: Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Mumbai, New Delhi. WAT is an essay on a topic announced on the spot; PI evaluates academics, general awareness, attitude, personality, communication and work-experience quality.

A final composite score (CAT/CAT Index + PI + WAT + Resume/Suitability Score) is computed; a common and category-wise merit list is prepared; offers released in order of merit as per Govt. of India reservation policy.
