The National Insurance Academy (NIA) is one of the best business schools in India for insurance professionals with the objective of creating best-in-class professionals for the insurance sector. It was set up in 1980 by a combined effort of the Government of India's Ministry of Finance and leading insurers like LIC, GIC, and other public sector insurers, NIA started operations in Mumbai before relocating to Pune in 1990. It is known for its architecture, certified by the NBA and sanctioned by AICTE also, offering class-beat education and training to future insurance professionals.
